With the TN nonimmigrant visa, Canadian and Mexican nationals can temporarily enter the United States to carry out professional commercial activities. This type of visa was approved through the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA), to strengthen their commercial relations and exchange; thus, generating benefits for citizens of these two countries.

If you want to apply for the TN Visa, you need to be a Mexican or Canadian citizen, have a prior agreement with a U.S. company to work. This is not valid if you apply as an independent worker, it is very important to verify that your profession is included in the approved list, and that you are trained to practice your profession in accordance with the position requirements.
If you are a Mexican citizen, you will require a nonimmigrant TN Visa, which must be requested at the U.S. Embassy or Consulate in Mexico. If you are a Canadian citizen, you must not request your TN Visa at a U.S. Consulate.
