Medical Exam
At the time of filing for Adjustment of Status (I-485) your application should include a Medical Examination. This is not optional, it is a requirement.
The purpose of this Examination is to determine if the applicant has any health conditions, drug problems, and mental conditions that require medical attention prior to migrating to the United States.
You can find an Authorized Doctor directly with USCIS at: https://my.uscis.gov/findadoctor
Once you have selected the doctor of your choice you must set up an appointment and contact them directly to find out what type of documentation you must present on the day of your appointment.
After the exam the doctor will complete the Form I-693 known as the Medical Exam Report which takes a few days to be completed. The doctor will contact you when the exam report is ready and they will hand this to you on a SEAL ENVELOPE.
Please remember that the SEAL ENVELOPE is only to be opened by an USCIS officer. USCIS will not accept the record if it has been opened.
